Tennessee Urology and IR Centers Launch First Interventional Radiology Center in the Region

Knoxville, TN – January 14, 2025 – Tennessee Urology, in collaboration with IR Centers, is proud to announce the opening of the first Interventional Radiology (IR) Center in East Tennessee. This state-of-the-art facility brings advanced, minimally invasive treatment options to the region, providing transformative care for conditions like Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH). Sandeep Bagla, MD, Interventional Radiologist and President of IR Centers, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership: “At IR Centers we are extremely excited to partner with Tennessee Urology by bringing the most advanced minimally invasive treatment options to the region.”

John Goodwin, MD, Interventional Radiologist explains that “Interventional radiology is a subspecialty within the larger field of radiology, and we perform image guided minimally invasive procedures often replacing more invasive surgical techniques.” The new IR Center offers cutting-edge procedures designed to shrink the prostate and alleviate symptoms of BPH, delivering effective results with fewer risks and shorter recovery times compared to traditional surgical methods.
