Outpatient Surgery Center
Chesapeake Urology's outpatient surgery centers (also called Summit Ambulatory Surgery Centers) offer patients high-quality care in a comfortable, private setting that is designed to help ease your tension. Our surgical staff consists of specialty-trained surgeons and nurses and board-certified anesthesiologists. We have the latest state-of-the-art equipment and can accommodate a variety of procedures requiring either local or general anesthesia.
We are accredited by the AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care).
What Procedures Are Performed Here?
For patients with suspected or diagnosed prostate cancer, you'll most likely be seen here for a prostate biopsy or if you are receiving brachytherapy treatment for prostate cancer. Inpatient surgical procedures, like prostatectomy, are performed at several area hospitals.
Where Are the Centers Located?
Chesapeake Urology has 15 outpatient surgery centers conveniently located throughout Metropolitan Baltimore and Central Maryland. Chances are, one of our surgery centers is in the same building where you see your urologist, or at least nearby. And parking is always easy-much easier than having to navigate a hospital campus.

What Can I Expect During My Visit?
Our mission is to provide compassionate, ethical surgical care in a comfortable, attentive and supportive environment. When you arrive you'll be greeted by a simple and concise check-in process-no long paperwork or activities that create additional stress.
Your surgeon and a caring team of specialty-trained nurses and board-certified anesthesiologists will take exceptional care of you before, during and after the procedure-tending to your needs and ensuring you are comfortable throughout the process.
Your family or other loved ones are welcome to be with you before the surgery and can join you immediately afterward during recovery. After recovery, your nurse will review with you any post-surgery care information. You will be discharged the same day.
