Dr. Aparna Ramaseshan is double board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery. She practices at Chesapeake Urology’s Columbia and St. Agnes offices. She specializes in providing comprehensive care for women facing challenges due to pelvic floor disorders, including pelvic organ prolapse, and urinary incontinence.

Dr. Ramaseshan strives to provide patients with a wide range of treatment options that include non-surgical and surgical approaches, including mesh vs non-mesh options for treatment. In addition, she provides uterine-preservation prolapse surgeries (no-hysterectomy) in addition to hysterectomy at the time of prolapse procedures. Dr. Ramaseshan offers multiple modalities of surgical management including vaginal and laparoscopic/robotic approaches for complex reconstruction of the pelvic floor.

Other areas of expertise include sacral neuromodulation therapy, bladder botox injection, bulking injections, and fistula repairs.

Dr. Ramaseshan has received grants and published several research papers on management of prolapse, optimizing pain control after surgeries, and role of uterine conservation at the time of prolapse repairs.
