Chesapeake Urology Celebrates Andrew C. Harbin's Recognition as One of America's Best Prostate Cancer Surgeons by Newsweek in 2024

Chesapeake Urology is proud to announce that Andrew C. Harbin has been recognized as one of America's Best Prostate Cancer Surgeons in 2024 by Newsweek. This prestigious ranking is based on four key sources: physician performance information from Medicare data, an online survey of thousands of medical experts conducted in March and April, quality-of-care ratings from each specialist's peers, and consideration of certifications from the American Board of Urology, Radiology, and Internal Medicine.

Prostate cancer is the second most common type of cancer among American men, with 10% developing the disease at some point in their lifetime, most commonly after the age of 50. Nearly 250,000 American men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year, and about 2 million live with the disease at any given time.

Andrew C. Harbin, Senior Physician of Chesapeake Urology commented, "I am honored to be named one of America's Best Prostate Cancer Surgeons by Newsweek. The success of our team depends on so many members, and I'm grateful for the nurses, techs, providers and support staff who make it all possible. At Chesapeake Urology, we strive to get the correct patient to the correct doctor in a timely manner, and we pride ourselves on our ability to diagnose and treat prostate cancer while it is still early and more easily curable. My goal is to improve the patient experience every day and provide the safest and highest quality care possible."
